LIMERICKS

 

 

There once was a girl from Turin

Who was out when she was s’posed to be in.

When people came knocking,

They complained it was shocking,

and left a curt note that they’d been.

A bard from the island of Rhodes

Had a wondrous collection of toads.

They were all shapes and sizes,

And even won prizes

For their singing in various modes.

 

                 *  *  *  *

 

A clever young girl called Roberta

Would never let anyone hurt ’er.

She’d get in real quick

With a punch and a kick

Before all her pluck could desert her!

 

                 *  *  *  *

 

The dinner was just piglagorious,

And our host was dimly vainglorious,

But the weather was fine

For most of the time,

And the wine was simply uproarious.
